What is my kid learning this Month?

For the month of November, we’ll be in the series: Waiting for Jesus.

Our kids will have many opportunities throughout their faith journeys to explore the nativity story and celebrate the birth of our baby King. But perhaps just as compelling as the day itself is the long-expected nature of Messiah’s birth. God had promised a King. The prophets foretold His story. The weeks leading up to Christmas Day can be a time of vibrant anticipation, of knowing that something worth waiting for is coming, and yet having to wait it out. In this series, kids will celebrate Advent in a new way as they discover the prophecies about the coming Savior from Isaiah in the Old Testament and the fulfillment of those prophecies in the birth of Jesus and the promise of His return.

🎉Something Fun:

We recently incorporated a “Wheel of Fun” in the classroom. The kids love getting to spin the wheel for a token, a prize or a game! Here’s a video of them playing “Wait a Minute”

Top 3 Things You Should Know:

These are important updates and schedules:

1️⃣ Christmas Musical!

This Sunday, we’ll have a sign-up sheet at Check-In for kids who are available to participate in our Christmas Musical on Sunday, December 14th. Each child who signs up will have a special part in the performance!

If your family will be out of town either in the weeks leading up to the musical or on the day of the performance itself, no worries — we’ll still make sure your child feels included and gets to be part of the fun as we prepare together each week!

2️⃣ Be Part of Someone’s Story this Christmas at Antioch

The Christmas season is one of the most open times of the year for people to encounter Jesus. Many who wouldn’t normally step into a church are searching for hope, peace, and meaning—and your invitation could be the very thing God uses to draw them to Himself.

We encourage you and your family to prayerfully consider who you can invite this Christmas season—friends, neighbors, classmates, or family members. You could be part of someone’s story of salvation and answered prayer.

Join us for these four special Sundays:

Let’s believe together for hearts to be awakened to the love of Jesus this Christmas!

3️⃣ Family Sunday - 11/30

Our next Family Sunday is coming up on November 30th! If you’re in town, we’d love for you to join us for a special time of family worship and message. Pastor Luke will be preaching on Advent from Matthew 1.

As always, we’ll have activities prepared to help your little ones stay engaged during the service.

“THAT happened in Kids Ministry?!”

📣 Giving our “Branches” to Jesus 📣

During a lesson where kids learned about God telling Moses to put a branch in the water to turn the water from bitter to sweet we led the kids to make their “branch” to put in the water. Each kid wrote/drew something that they wanted to give over to God. One kid drew a picture of herself standing on one side of a tree and Jesus on the other. She bravely shared with the class that it meant that she didn’t know Jesus was right on the other side of the tree the whole time. She gave Jesus her worry and fear of being alone. How powerful!
